Pluscec accepts WHA 2 tryout
Former Blue Devil goaltender Rob Pluscec has accepted a tryout
offer from the Lakeland
Loggerheads of the new World
Hockey Association 2. The Loggerheads, along with five other
teams, make up the new WHA 2. The league's first game will take
place on November 6, when the Loggerheads take on the Macon
Trax. Pluscec is the first Duke Hockey player to be offered
a pro tryout. His last season with us came during our 2001-02
campaign.
In addition to Lakeland and Macon, the other teams in the
WHA 2 are the Jacksonville Barracudas, the Orlando Seals,
the Miami Manatees and the Alabama Slammers. The league plans
to be community-oriented and very fan friendly. The Duke Hockey
program wishes Rob good luck.
