Four Devils Earn All-ACCHL Recognition
DURHAM, NC -- Duke enters the 2002-03 season with four players
who were recognized by the ACCHL
for their fine play last year.
Current junior Jeff
Lake was named to the All-ACCHL
First Team at forward, along with Liberty's Josh Pearce
and Ben Wilson. Duke's current senior Luke
Wolin and current junior Calvin
Hui are the defenseman on the All-ACCHL
Second Team. Current junior Brian
Markowitz earned All-ACCHL
Honorable Mention.
Lake made the first team with with 26 goals and 26 assists
in 22 games, despite constantly being shadowed by his opponents.
Perhaps the most skilled player in the league, Lake deserved
the highest ACCHL honor due to his hard work and tremendous
skill.
Wolin had 20 points for Duke last year, and anchored the
defense, along with Hui. Hui had 12 points for the Devils.
Markowitz was third on the team in scoring with 33 points.
Duke will begin the 2002-03 season without Lake and Markowitz,
who will be studying in Europe. Wolin, the team's captain,
is working hard in the offseason at his home in Highland Park,
Illinois. He will ready for the start of the year, and so
will Hui. Hui is enjoying his summer at home in Framingham,
Massachusetts.
