Four Devils Earn All-ACCHL Recognition

DURHAM, NC -- Duke enters the 2002-03 season with four players who were recognized by the ACCHL for their fine play last year.

Current junior Jeff Lake was named to the All-ACCHL First Team at forward, along with Liberty's Josh Pearce and Ben Wilson. Duke's current senior Luke Wolin and current junior Calvin Hui are the defenseman on the All-ACCHL Second Team. Current junior Brian Markowitz earned All-ACCHL Honorable Mention.

Lake made the first team with with 26 goals and 26 assists in 22 games, despite constantly being shadowed by his opponents. Perhaps the most skilled player in the league, Lake deserved the highest ACCHL honor due to his hard work and tremendous skill.

Wolin had 20 points for Duke last year, and anchored the defense, along with Hui. Hui had 12 points for the Devils. Markowitz was third on the team in scoring with 33 points.

Duke will begin the 2002-03 season without Lake and Markowitz, who will be studying in Europe. Wolin, the team's captain, is working hard in the offseason at his home in Highland Park, Illinois. He will ready for the start of the year, and so will Hui. Hui is enjoying his summer at home in Framingham, Massachusetts.
