Duke Season Ends with 7-3 Loss to Virginia

RALEIGH, NC -- Duke's season came to an end on Saturday when Virginia beat Duke 7-3 in the ACCHL Semifinals. The Cavaliers jumped out early, taking a 3-0 lead into the first intermission. Duke could never get back in the game.

Duke's first goal, scored on the power play by Robert Fogarty, came with 12:18 left in the second period. After two periods, the Blue Devils trailed 4-1.

Duke began the third hoping another heroic comeback against Virginia. However, it wasn't meant to be as Virginia outscored Duke 3-2 in what would be Duke' s last period of the season. Both of Duke's third period goals were scored by Jeff Lake.

GAME NOTES
The game was the last in a Duke uniform for captain Luke Wolin, Mark Lavender, Steve Strickland and Colin Carrihill.
