HILLSBOROUGH,
NC -- Virginia swept the weekend series against Duke on
Saturday night with a 7-4 win. The Cavaliers jumped out
to a 2-0 lead and never looked back.
After Virginia claimed the 2-0, Duke responded with a power
play goal by Robert
Fogarty late in the first period. However, Virginia
scored the next goal at the beginning of the second.
Duke again came back with a power play goal, this time
by Ben
Peterson on a blast from the point, to make the
score 3-2. The Cavs then scored four unanswered goals to
put Duke away.
With the score 7-2, Duke closed the third period with goals
by Ted
Rosenwasser and Ben Peterson's second power play
goal of the game. Duke's three power play goals in the game
weren't enough as the Cavs left Durham with two big wins.
