Virginia Beats Duke 10-3
HILLSBOROUGH,
NC -- A passionate Virginia team beat Duke by a score of 10-3
on Friday night. Duke blew a 2-0 lead through one period by
giving up six unanswered goals.
Duke got on the board first on a nice rebound goal by Jesse
Swanko assisted by
Eric Shepsman and Adam
Katz. The Devils claimed a 2-0 with a power play goal
by Adam Katz late in the first. Katz pounced on the rebound
of a shot by Dave
Bradley. Swanko was credited with an assist as well.
Unfortunately for the Blue Devils, the game took a dramatic
turn in the final two periods. Virginia's strong forecheck
led to a four-goal second period and the Cavs put the game
away with six more goals in the third. The win gives Virginia
a 1-0 record in the ACCHL while Duke falls to 1-1.
GAME NOTES
Duke and Virginia will play again tomorrow at the SportsPlex
at 6:00 PM.
