Hoyas Derail Duke 7-5
Hillsborough,
NC -- Georgetown defeated Duke 7-5 on Saturday night. The Devils
jumped out to a 5-1 lead, but couldn't finish off the visiting
Hoyas. Georgetown scored the final six goals of the game as
Duke lost its third game in a row.
The first period ended with Duke ahead 3-1. The Devils got
the first goal from Colin
Carrihill and the next two from Jesse
Swanko. Swanko's second was a power-play tally scored
on a pretty give-and-go with Robert Fogarty.
The Devils began the second period with the same momentum
they had in the first. Fogarty and Brian
Markowitz both scored in the opening minute of the
the period to put Duke ahead 5-1.
However, an untimely penalty led to a Georgetown power-play
goal that shifted the momentum in favor of the Hoyas. Georgetown
dominated the remainder of the period and tied the game at
five with 7:42 left in the second period. The game remained
tied after two periods.
The Hoyas got the game-winner 15:44 into the third period.
Their seventh goal was an empty-netter that came on a Duke
power play with 1:02 left.

Hui missed the game with a nagging shoulder injury.
